Our tribute acts count down some of the greatest love songs of all time!

Christmas is gone! New Years is over! Gloomy January is almost through! Time to kick back, relax and wait for things to warm up in Spring......or not. Valentines Day is edging ever closer and with plush pink hearts adorning stores and restaurants all over, it's becoming increasingly hard to ignore!

If you used up all your really good gift ideas at crimbo, a good ole love song never goes out of style.
So, with a little help from our brilliant tribute acts, here's our mixtape with some of the greatest and ever-popular swoon-inducing tunes from some of the world's biggest stars....

Jean Genie: Tribute to David Bowie
Heroes - David Bowie

You've probably heard this one more times this week than ever before as the world said goodbye to the unique talent that is David Bowie.

As Rolling Stone put it, “Bowie wails with crazed soul about two doomed lovers finding a moment of redemption together — just for one day.” We reckon even for those relationships that aren't doomed, 'Heroes' is an anthem for determined couples everywhere!

I am Beyonce: Tribute to Beyonce
Halo - Beyonce

'Everywhere I'm looking now, I'm surrounded by your embrace. Baby, I can see your halo, you know you're my saving grace'
Little or no explanation needed with this one - this power ballad shows off Beyonce's raw vocal ability as she sings about her angel.

Three Times a Lady - Malcolm Pitt
Malcolm Pitt: Tribute to Lionel Richie

Many a first kiss in the late '70s can be attributed to this classic tune by Lionel Richie.
In 2009, Richie said that he was inspired to write the song because of a comment his father made to his mother "I love you. I want you. I need you. Forever" hence the three times a lady.

Now if that's not enough to convince you of the pure romance of this one, we don't know what is.

A Million Love Songs - Take That
Rule The World: Take That Tribute

If you're not the greatest wordsmith and find uttering those 3 little words rather daunting then this one's for you. A Million Love Songs penned by Gary Barlow is an ode to struggling to find the right way to tell that person how you feel.

'A man who's trying to say three words, the words that make me scared. A million love songs later, and here I am trying to tell you that I care.'

Whack this song on when Valentines Day is here and they'll know!

When I'm 64 - The Beatles

The Fab Beatles: Beatles Tribute Band

Perhaps not the first to come to mind when it comes to The Beatles and a love song but this jaunty little ditty about a young man's hope of growing old together with his lover is a cracking little love song.

'Doing the garden, digging the weeds, who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm sixty-four?'

So with just under a month to go until Valentines Day, we hope this has given you a few ideas on how to serenade your other half this February the 14th!
